Anatase-type TiO2 nano-powder is typically employed as a material for the photoelectrode of the solar cell. In the present study, MgTi2O5 nano-powder was substituted for the anatase-type TiO2 nano-powder. It was confirmed for the first time that the dye sensitized solar cell which was assembled by employing the MgTi2O5 photoelectrode really generated electricity. The solar cell showed the open circuit voltage of 0.55 V, the short circuit current density of 0.087 mAcm-2, the maximum power of 0.018 mWcm-2, and 0.38 of the fill factor.
