| 内容記述 | This study examined the implementation of the AP program in a large urban public school district in the United States, using data published by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and a nonprofit organization to analyze the socioeconomic impact on “economically disadvantaged” students. In this school district, schools with lower enrollment rates of “economically disadvantaged” students offered more AP courses and achieved higher AP exam pass rates, demonstrating an extremely high correlation between them. While the AP program may appear to perpetuate existing socioeconomic hierarchies in this way, it also ensures objectivity and fairness through testing, potentially serving as a pathway for “economically disadvantaged” students to achieve socioeconomic mobility. The efforts to guide “economically disadvantaged” students toward higher education, demonstrated not only through NPOs support for student participation in the AP program but also through dual enrollment programs run by NPOs and a community college, as well as by the community college independently, are suggestive. | |||||||||
