| 内容記述 | Cherepanov was sent as chief military adviser to the Chinese army at the height of 1938 during the Sino-Japanese war. Serious assistance in the first stage of the war came only from the Soviet Union. In Alma Ata he boarded a plane and flied over the dessert areas of Xingjiang. There was a busy highway below. Thousands of Soviet road-builders worked heroically to lay it. He reached Lanzhou airfield and then Wuhan airfield. He was recognised by former cadets of the Whampoa School and participants in the military expedition of the Chinese revolution, 1925-1927. Chiang Kai-shek was cordial and invited him to the Military Council building. There, he met Zhou Enlai who, at the time, was the representative of the Communist Party in the Military Council. Zhou greeted him warmly. They had known each other at the Whampoa School, where Zhou Enlai had been a political instructor for some time. Thus, his work in China began. | |||||||||
