内容記述 | Of two hundred fifty some plays of Kyogen comedic theatre in the current repertory, more than half deal with some negative aspects of the humans. Among them a considerable number touches on the areas of taboo, such as power, sex, and violence. While Theatre's main function is to entertain, Kyogen has chosen what is dangerous and yet most entertaining, that is, taboo areas. This treatise analyzes the kinds of taboo are as Kyogen depicts, and how they are transformed into not only acceptable presentation but highly theatricalized art. Given consideration are such approaches as stereotypification including characters, structure and stylization, unexpected development of scenes, sublimation through words, line delivery and physical activities. While Kyogen has become an established traditional art, it draws its primary energy from the daily life of the average people with all their triumphs and humiliations. Kyogen's future survival must lie in the enactment of dangerous zones, and in its characters' very lack of grace and virtue ever ready to trespass the threshold of taboo areas. | |||||||||
