| 内容記述 | A brief review of the theoretical study on the s-f model and conduction electron states in magnetic semiconductors is given. We first present the coherent potential formula using t matrix elements of the s-f exchange interaction. Applying the mean field theory to fluctuating f spins, the variation of the electric state density with temperature is investigated for various strengths of s-f exchange interaction. The anomalous redshift of the optical absorption edge, and the dependence of the electron-spin polarization and electrical resistivity on the temperature and magnetic fields, experimentally observed in EuO and EuS, can be explained consistently within this approximation. The effect of f spin correlation on the s electron states is also discussed. | |||||||||
