Dye sensitized solar cells in which photoanodes were fabricated by employing MgTi2O5 as semiconducting porous film material were assembled and their photovoltaic properties were investigated. In the present study, MgTi2O5 was synthesized and ground by a ball-milled, and was used to prepare paste to form the porous film,. The ball-milling process resulted in improvement of open circuit voltage and short circuit current density. It was considered from FE-SEM observations of the film formed that the ball-milling process resulted in less ineffectual pores in the films and the improvement of the photovoltaic properties. The photovoltaic properties varied by cells with the ball-milling process comparing with the cells without ball-milling process. It was considered that the ball-milling process dispersed the size distribution of MgTi2O5 particles and that MgTi2O5 films with similar quality were difficult to be formed reproducibly. |
