The idea of entropy was introdured by Clausius in 1850 for the new thermodynamic property of substances, and the new defurition of entropy was developed by Boltzmann and others in the field of statistical mechanics. In twentieth century, entropy has been extended to the economics theory, information theory, and others, but the role and meaning of entropy is same in points of showing the change from equilibrium state, the stability and the probability of observing state. Even though entropy is used in many fields of science, it is not easy for students to understand entropy visually. This paper deals with the development of the educational multimedia applications on learning of entropy. We discuss on several defurition of measurable distance between particles, and on the visuafuation of change of entropy. |
